Meet Alicja Matuszkiewicz

It is an honour for Trading MasterClass to introduce Alicja M, part-time hybrid trader and CEO of Mumuno. Alicja has been learning to trade with TMC for 1 year and has already achieved FTMO funding to grow her capital! She is elegantly setting the stage for our amazing community of traders, showing them all what's possible (in a short period of time), with hard work, determination, and unwavering self-belief. Although Alicja currently resides in Poland, she considers herself a citizen of the world and dreams to one day (soon) have a home in Mallorca. We have no doubt that she will achieve this dream, and more.

When did your trading journey first begin?

I was binge watching movies about fractals, Fibonacci etc, and it was mentioned in one of them that Fibonacci patterns were presenting themselves even in financial markets. I was fascinated with this fact and randomly I saw Irek’s profile on Instagram a few days later. My trading journey began with a 14 day trial to Trading MasterClass. I guess it was back in 2018 or 2019. I had no money back then to subscribe as I had different priorities. I noted down everything and then... I went back to my old routine. But trading was on my mind ever since. I dedicated myself in the beginning of March 2020 and was hit with the pandemic two weeks later. I can say I got fascinated with the concepts of trading. I got addicted somehow.

What was it that made you want to pursue trading?

The idea that markets reflect nature’s patterns and there is literally no ceiling in the evolvement of this field. With trading I don’t need to depend on anyone but me. Only I am responsible for my failure, for my progress, I can’t blame anyone for my mistakes and I can be proud for my successes. I have always been a good student. I graduated ethnolinguistics and law as I thought it would give me a good living. I had no idea what to do with my life as I was seeing opportunities everywhere and I couldn’t decide on where to settle myself. It got frustrating as nothing could interest me for a longer time. I got bored quickly and had this inner feeling that life is something more than just working for money. Then trading came to me and there is no way back. The first time in my life I feel that I am doing something because it fascinates me and not because I have to or I need to or someone expects me to. It feels so natural and fulfilling. I wake up and I don’t complain that I have to work again. I simply enjoy the process and look forward to progress!

What is something unexpected that you love about trading?

The fact that psychology is soooo important. I have read that “trading is a microcosm of life” and I couldn’t agree more. I could be talking about it for hours. It has also changed my view on money. The abundance is there. It’s up to us if we are willing to accept it and manifest the dream come true or play victim.

What are one to three books that have profoundly impacted your journey? Why?

The first book that impacted my evolution as a human was “Awakening: Conversations with the Masters” by Anthony de Mello.

Later on “Reality Transurfing” by Vadim Zeland.

These are the most important books in my life as they made me who I am today in terms of my view on life in general. It’s amazing that somehow I always felt in my heart everything they talk about. It helped me to order my thoughts and develop my own life philosophy. Also, I am super glad they are common among Trading MasterClass members as unfortunately so few people can understand them or ever try to read them.

Trading wise, “The Psychology of Trading: Tools and Techniques for Minding the Markets” by Brett N. Steenbarger as it helps to come to terms with the trader’s mind. The most challenging aspect of trading.

What new belief, behaviour, or habit has helped you gain the most forward momentum since becoming a trader?

PATIENCE. It’s the key. Focus on work. Everyday. First time in my life I am self-accountable. I am aware of my mistakes and I am willing to improve. I do not need outer acceptance as I have goals that fully resonate with me. I have mind and soul synchronized.

What advice would you give to an inspired, driven individual about to step into the trading world?

Do not rush. You will dedicate yourself to the work when your time comes. If you don’t feel passion for the charts and for the evolution itself with all its ups, and even more downs, you won’t succeed. Trading is a subtle art fully dependent on your attitude. If you are in the game only for money you will fail, heavily. Focus on your mind and evolution as a person and the results will come inevitably. You must know deep in your heart that you are the 5% of people that succeed in this industry. Otherwise you will be like 95% of the rest, thinking that trader-wannabes are naive and destined to be failed dreamers.

How has Trading MasterClass assisted your evolution?

It has started the evolution in every sense. It gave me foundations I am able to build on. To tweak the strategies to my own style. The community has helped a lot in the moments of doubts and loneliness. Trading is a very lonely game. As much as I love it for that, sometimes I lack people that share the same passion in life. I wouldn’t be the trader I am today if life hasn’t crossed my path with TMC.

What is your next immediate trading goal?

I want to reap the fruits of labor I’ve already put into trading - start to earn money as I've been investing til today. I need to work on my psychology as I still catch myself making decisions based on emotions. I want to be an emotionless machine in terms of trading. Also, I am aware that my trading journal requires more effort from me.

Any final words of wisdom?

Everything happens for a reason... even if you don’t understand it now. Life will give you the answer in the best possible moment. You can’t plan your life in every detail. You can manifest it but it will always manifest itself the way the universe “thinks” is best for you. This philosophy helps me when I am having hard times and makes me full of gratitude for this life and our connection to the source.
